1. Agreement and operator

Excera is an early-stage, founder-operated human risk intelligence venture run by Mahmoud Lotfy. By using excera.live, The Tell or Build with Excera, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use those services.

You must be at least 18 years old, or old enough to enter this agreement where you live.

2. What The Tell is

The Tell is a short social-engineering simulation. Its attack messages are fictional and created for safe demonstration. References to real threat groups describe reported methods but do not mean that a particular group is targeting you, your role or your employer.

Your result is not a security assessment, certification, prediction or guarantee. It should not replace professional advice, organisational controls, incident reporting or verification procedures.

3. Acceptable use

You may play The Tell and share the result or challenge cards it creates for personal or business discussion. You may not:

  • Use the service or its content to deceive, impersonate, harass or harm another person.
  • Turn scenarios, audio or interface elements into a real phishing, vishing or social-engineering campaign.
  • Probe, bypass or interfere with security controls, rate limits or access restrictions.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy or overload the service.
  • Upload or submit confidential, regulated or sensitive personal information that the public service does not ask for.
  • Break applicable law or another person’s rights.

4. Build with Excera requests

A Build with Excera request opens a conversation. It does not guarantee access, timing, pricing, investment, partnership, employment or any other commercial relationship.

Provide accurate information that you are allowed to share. We may reply, decline or close a request and may contact you about it.

5. Ownership

Excera owns or licenses the site, game design, software, original writing, artwork, audio and brand elements. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the public service for its intended purpose.

Threat-group names, third-party product interfaces, company names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

6. Availability and changes

The public service is provided as available. It may contain mistakes, be interrupted or change without notice. We may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including a scenario, feature or contact route, especially while Excera is in an early stage.

7. External services and links

The site uses third-party infrastructure and may link to external websites. We do not control external content, availability or privacy practices. Use those services under their own terms.

8. Responsibility and liability

Use the public service at your own judgment. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Excera and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the public site, The Tell, a Build with Excera response or reliance on a game result.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or removes mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer or data-protection law.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how the public service handles personal data. It forms part of these terms.

10. Ending access

We may block or end access when we reasonably believe someone has abused the service, created risk for others or broken these terms. Provisions about ownership, responsibility and lawful use continue after access ends where their nature requires it.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the public service changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes apply from publication unless law requires another form of notice.
